Background

Do you struggle in your personal relationships? Have you been in multiple relationships that went a little too quickly? Are you looking for external gratification instead of working from within? Have you been involved in a car accident, experienced domestic abuse, and or anything that was traumatic for YOU?

If any of these questions resonate with you give me a call. I specialize in anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and trauma. We live in a world full of invalidation and sometimes all it takes to feel better is to be validated. Giving yourself one hour per week or per month can give you the ability to look within.

I use Bartenieff Fundamentals and mirroring from Marian Chase. My specialty is trauma and my thesis was written on how we can use dance movement therapy to treat mental and physical signs of trauma.

Barteneiff was a physical therapist who created a whole developmental movement pattern to help those with brain impairments, physical impairments, and mental health. Using certain movements that cross the corpus callosum (the middle of the brain) has been shown to help an individual regain that movement after having a stroke.

Philosophy

“I am an eclectic therapist. I can pivot to the needs of each individual client. I believe that working with someone you click with is important.”

I am also a registered dance movement therapist. This means I am a specialist in how one presents themselves to their world through body language. I recognize the importance of posture and how it can affect breathing, as well as how it can affect one’s mental and physical health. I have a vast network of healthcare professionals, who have similar beliefs, which I refer to.

Therapy is interactive, so we will work together to address the things that matter most to you. If you have ever wondered about therapy, now is the time to act. Consider working with a therapist who implements body awareness, activity levels, and physical health. Above all, work with someone who thinks outside of the box – for permanent change.

The name Heiser Counseling is a tribute to my grandfather. He was my rock and he is the reason I have become the caring, independent woman I am today.
